Thank you so much for visiting our website! We don’t take your time and effort for granted, and we hope and pray that you will find your time well spent. Glory of Christ exists to spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples, through Jesus Christ. If we can help you in any way grow in your passion for Jesus Christ, do not hesitate to let us know.
Let me tell you a little bit about Glory of Christ. We derive our name from 2 Corinthians 4:1-6, which reads as follows:

“Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God's word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

From this we take five principles that guide our lives and ministries:
  1. We, as a staff, have renounced “disgraceful, underhanded ways,” and simply live to tell the truth about the life and teachings and claims and being of Jesus Christ. We do not think that our job is to market the church or make the Bible “user-friendly,” rather we think that God has called us to state the truths of the Bible openly, without changing or “tampering” with his Word. We are aware that this will make some people uncomfortable, and will in fact drive some away. But we are committed to honoring the call of God on our lives regardless of the outcome. Our ultimate goal is not church growth, but the glory of God in the clear, humble, honest proclamation of the truth.
  2. We are joyfully serious about God’s Word, the Bible, and we aim to obey and teach it in all we do. We love verses like Psalm 19:10, “More to be desired are they [the rules of God] than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb,” and Psalm 119:103 “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” Indeed, the Word of God is a fountain of life, and by the mercy of God we are deeply committed to it.
  3. We have a passion to share the good news of Jesus Christ with people who do not know Jesus Christ, who have been blinded by the “god of this world.” Oh how we long for persons from every tribe and tongue and nation to see the beauty of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ! Therefore, we are committed to sharing the gospel with our friends and neighbors, to starting new churches in the United States, and to supporting missionaries all throughout the world.
  4. We believe that all true experience of God is mediated through Jesus Christ. What we see and know of the glory of God we see and know in “the face of Christ.” Therefore, we do not preach ourselves or our denomination or our particular brand of Christianity, but we preach Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for his sake. We long for you to know the fullness of the beauty of Jesus Christ, and we live our lives to that end.
Glory of Christ exists because of the mercy of God. God mercifully forgave all our sins through Jesus Christ, God mercifully saved us from just damnation, and God mercifully called us into service in his Kingdom. We believe that God, in his mercy, called this church into existence, and therefore we do not lose heart in any circumstance. God brought us into being, and God will sustain us by his mercy as long as he wills.
There is so much more to say, but I will stop here. We are aware that Glory of Christ is not the church for everyone, but we earnestly hope that you can find a home here. We’re not a perfect church, but we’re growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ and we invite you to join us in this pursuit. In the end, Glory of Christ is all about the glory of Christ! Come, taste and see that the Lord is good! (Psalm 34:8)

Lamp & Light Verse

John 13:34-35 (ESV)
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. ?By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.
