Men's & Women's Ministries

Changes, changes, changes! For the last several weeks I’ve been summarizing some changes we’ll be making this fall at Glory of Christ, all of which are designed to heighten the impact of the Word of God in the lives of his people. We do not believe in change for the sake of change but we do believe in making whatever adjustments are necessary along the way in order to fulfill the purpose of the church, namely, to spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples, through Jesus Christ.

Accordingly, as Pastor Kevin and I pondered our men’s and women’s ministries, we felt that we could augment their effectiveness by having both groups study the same thing at the same time. This idea came to us through several of you, and we appreciate your willingness to share your hearts with us. We are listening to you!

Currently the men are closing out a study on 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, and the women are closing out a study on 1 Peter. The timing could not be better. This will allow us to start a new course of Study in September on biblical manhood and womanhood. This study will be helpful in itself, but it will also coincide with a series of sermons I plan to start on this subject sometime in the fall.

Our bottom line hope for this change is that husbands and wives will take up their study together and thus grow closer in Christ, come to one mind about crucial biblical issues, and better integrate the monthly lessons into their way of life. We long to see the Word of God transform lives at Glory of Christ and we feel this will be more likely as we commit ourselves to teaching “more about less.”
